Vanessa: When did you start to play?
Jeff: So, I started playing when I was 12, and I started just taking a group guitar
class at my school. My parents got me a terrible guitar cause they didn’t think I
was going to stick with it.
Vocabulary:
To start to/ To start _-ing: you can use the infinitive or an –ING verb with the
verb “to start”; both are correct, and you can see we used both in this
conversation
Cause: because; native speakers use “cause” in all conversation but not in formal
writing; don’t use this when writing a business email, but only in casual situations
To stick with something: to continue doing something
