Day 19: Situations

Vanessa: So, do you have any difficult stories or difficult situations that you had to
deal with?
Lauren: There’s just so many different situations. It’s hard to narrow it down to
one particular situation.
Vanessa: Yeah. When you deal with people there’s always things that happen.

Vocabulary:
To deal with something: to handle a difficult situation
To narrow it down to: when you have a lot of choices, you have to choose a
limited amount of those choices
There’s: there is; this is a common grammar mistake that native speakers make
(so it’s okay to use it because it’s natural); it should be “there are always things”
because “things” is plural, but we often use the singular form “is” for singular or
plural sentences
