Day 21: Practice

Davey: It takes a lot of practice. We’ve been doing this full time for 7 1/2 years
now. And we’re still learning stuff. So, I mean, it’s an ongoing experience and it
does take a lot of practice, but you can learn some quick basics, right off the bat.
But, then to really perfect that art form it just takes more practice.

Something takes practice: to become good at something, you need to practice
Right off the bat: [idiom] immediately
To perfect something: to become a master at something; notice the difference in
pronunciation with this word; the emphasis is different because the first one is an
adjective, and the second one is a verb: “The cake is perfect,” and, “I need to
perfect my skills.”
