Day 26: Wood
Kasey: When I grew up we had a woodstove.
Vanessa: Really?
Kasey: So, my dad had to cut down wood and feed the fire every couple of hours.
He’d get up in the night. I think at night he could maybe stock it to go through the
night but in the morning you’d have to get up and do it.
Vocabulary:
To grow up: from childhood to adulthood
To feed the fire: to give wood to the fire
To stock something: to keep a supply of something; we often use this to talk
about a store: these books are in stock/ these books are out of stock
